After receiving feedback from the professor and classmates last week, I revised some details on the ticket. For the physical ticket, in the first version, I added some textures and backgrounds to make it look more design on the top, and I also deleted unnecessary information such as the price. In the second version, I changed Jay’s name to the color to match his picture. For the digital wallet card, I also made two versions of the design. The first one adds blue as the background color, and the second one uses the image as the entire background. I put the most original ticket at the bottom for comparison, hoping to receive more feedback and suggestions!

This week, we need to find one thing that we think is ugly and involves typography. Then, we should re-design that item with a new type of style and clear layout. The idea that comes to my mind is concert tickets. My favorite Chinese singer is Jay Chou. I grew up listening to his songs and he is very famous in China. In 2019, he came to Las Vegas to hold a concert, and I found some pictures of tickets online. I think the design of this ticket is very banal. Although it cannot be said to be “ugly”, it is not very well designed. So I chose to redesign Jay’s concert tickets. The first and second tickets are physical tickets, and the third is a digital wallet card. I used the TG Frekuent Mono Variable as the main font for the redesign.

This week, we need to finish our type specimen assignment. After the last class’ group critique, I realized that the font type I chose is more suitable for graphic design than motion design. So I used “Supermarker” to make a few graphic designs to show this font. Including poster design, brand identity design, business card design, and food packing design.
